Linguistic research and its impact
Linguistics is a broad, complex multifaceted discipline. The many branches of linguistics take different perspectives on the study of language, a uniquely human phenomenon that is not only a means of communication, but is also central to social identities. Each of the researchers in this summer series is presenting their research in a different area of linguistics, demonstrating their methodology and their new insights into particular languages, as well as the implications of their work for forming linguistic identities in a multilingual world.
