The Learning and Teaching Team presented the first in a series of Learning and Teaching conferences on 12th May 2015.

The afternoon included an exploration of some of the ways technology is being used at SOAS to take learning beyond the lecture theatre.  Speakers showcased innovative uses of multi choice question; the Guardian runners-up research methods MOOC; lecture capture and flipping classrooms; an introduction to Skills for Success on BLE; a timeline on BLE to help students with their studies and revision; and a panel Q&A.

There was a good turnout of academic and teaching staff and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. The presentations and recordings from the event can be found on the BLE - click here.

The conferences will be held once a term and the next one is scheduled for Thursday 5th November 2015. The theme will be assessment and feedback. Please get in touch if you would like to be involved, and if you have any suggestions for future conferences.
