Are you having issues with your Firefox browser running slow or not responding to your search commands? This is an indication that the cache stored in browser needs to be cleared. This short video clip will demonstrate a step by step on how to remove the cache stored in your Firefox browser, without interfering with your bookmarks and settings. After completing this process, close the browser and reopen it this should resolve the performance issues.

However, consider clearing your browser history for maintenance and better performance; before doing so it would be good practice to make sure all that is important to you such as, ( frequently visited sites), making sure, that they are bookmarked. Once the history has been cleared it is none retrievable, unless you have retained the address in your memory.  Here are further instructions which gives you the options to Taylor or fine tune your browser, to run at optimum performance each time you launch it.


  1. From the History menu, select Clear Recent History. If the menu bar is hidden, press Alt to make it visible.
  2. From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, select the desired range; to clear your entire cache, select everything.
  3. Next to "Details", click the down arrow to choose which elements of the history to clear; to clear your entire cache, select all items.
  4. Click Clear Now.
  5. Exit/quit all browser windows and re-open the browser.
